INTERVENÇÕES URBANAS (public art)

AO SABOR DO VENTO
(Into winds’s flavor / into winds’s will)

Lentamente.

This art work is linked with the etymology/origin of the word “delírio” (delirium). A Latin origin word, that means a spirit excitation, was born with a different meaning: the action of get out of the “lira”, that means furrow, crack, made in the soil by the plow. In this case, the delirium is provoked by the air movement. A square’s shape of 22 balloons was formed in the center of intersection of Rio de Janeiro Street and Goitacases Street. When people leave the balloons, they start to move from the soil and re-design/re-draw the square, slowly.

... delírio

Esta ação não seria possível sem o auxílio de Sr. Aristides, quem nos permitiu acessar o terraço do prédio da esquina, abrindo as portas da maçonaria para tirarmos as fotos. Dona Moema, também, gentilmente nos permitiu adentrar, domingo de manhã, em seu apartamento para filmar.

PALAVRAS AO VENTO
(words across the wind)

The action of this work is to put words across the wind by painting 6 words in transparent kites. The words are divided in two groups that form two phrases: 'Transparency/ of the/ infinitum' (infinity) and 'Equilibrium(balance)/ in the/ empty'. In the air, the phrases can be mixed, creating new different senses.
To make the kites go up, I had to develope a dispositive of two balloons. Each kite received two balloons to fly up beyond the high buildings, because they (the buildings) interrupt the way of winds.

AR DE BELO HORIZONTE
(Air of Belo Horizonte City, literally Air of Pretty/Beautiful Horizont City)

"It is always good to remember that an empty cup is full of air". – Gilberto Gil
The elements of this work are defined in its title: air, beauty and horizont. Air can be thought as an insignificant thing, once it is in everywhere. Beautiful and Horizont is the translation of the name of the city where this work was made: Belo Horizonte.
Horizont is the encounter of the mountains, buildings and the sky. A line of contact. Belo Horizonte is a city called by its beauty properties of its encounter of land and air. So, in front of a beautiful horizont, in the city’s downtown, I registered the collection of Belo Horizonte’s air in bottles, because they were full of another air, once they were shopped from other city. As result, I labeled them and sold them in the Bus Station of Belo Horizonte as a souvenir, to people who were leaving the city.

LINHA CURVA DA TERRA
(Curved line of the Earth)

Shadows create designs on the floor. Along the day, they reconfigure the images of the city's surface. Side by side with a multitude of images, sounds and happenings, these shadows's projections make a slow and continuous movement that defines the emergence of new designs. This work is a gesture in pursuit of registering the right moment of the shadow's mark. In other words, it is the object's position to the Sun. Whereas the Earth revolves, shadows change, lean. So, on the city's floor it will be 2 draws: the register in Indian ink of minutes ago and the actual projection of the shadow. It is a drawing of hatches in movement.
